Santa Run 2023

#runicosia on December 26   – dressed as Santa Clauses – we run and contribute to the ELPIDA Foundation for children with cancer and leukemia. Runners, cyclists, skaters, walkers but also organized groups, companies and organizations of our city come with your friends, your children or alone and support this charitable cause!

The Nicosia Pedestrian Shopkeepers Association, the Nicosia Municipality, the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, Partners Connected Communications, the Nicosia Tourism Development and Promotion Company, KASA College and other organizations and companies support the initiative of RuNicosia (Non-Profit Organization) and organize for the 8th consecutive year the charity event Santa Run on 26 December 2023.

Santa Clauses starting from the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation, Elysee (GSP intersection), Strovolos Town Hall, the APOEL Association and KASA College will converge at the entrance of Makarios Hospital. The runners will sing carols and hand out gifts to children battling cancer and hospital staff. Santa Clauses will be led by experienced runners,   cyclists etc. and will move in groups on public roads and on the sidewalks and following traffic rules. The pace will be slow and “festive” for everyone to follow regardless of ability and endurance.

The goal is to financially support the “Elpida Foundation” which supports “ every child to emerge victorious from this hard ordeal and never again to allow cancer to steal the life of any child”. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Elpida Foundation, while organizations and companies can deposit their contributions directly into the ELPIDA Foundation account.  Registrations will only be made online through http://www.santarun.com.cy   website until December 24, 2023.

At the end of our choral visit to Makarios Hospital, all participants will end up on the pedestrian street of Ledra Street where they will be offered hot soup and wine, while an unplugged music party with songs and dancing will take place.
