The 29.32km race is organized by RuNicosia (Non-Profit Organization) with the strong support of the Kato Pyrgos Community Council. Runners will enjoy the magnificent picturesque of the Kato Pyrgos and the Morphou bay while they may be outrun by the mouflons which are present at the area and overflew and overseen by the Aquila Fasciata Eagle (species under extinction). The race starts and finishes at the Kato Pyrgos landmark, the centenarian oak tree situated at the village main road. Following a paved road, the runners will enter the Katouris dry riverbed with trees and thick vegetation on both sides protecting the runners from the sun. Once reaching the Katouris river water dam, the runners will start an uphill route through forest roads and trails. Following very steep slopes, fire protection zones, and running over mountain ridges the runners will be overwhelmed by the picturesque and the beautiful view of the Pyrgos bay the deep blue, and the landscape of the area. Passing by the Pano Pyrgos village runners will enter the finishing leg and will arrive at the finish line via the main road. The runners will receive a Finisher’s medal, BIB number (only for timely registrations), electronic Mylaps timing chip. Supply stations will be located along the racecourse providing fruit, water, and isotonic beverages and at the finish line. Emergency First Responders will be placed along the racecourse and at the finish line. Upon arrival the runners will enjoy traditional breakfast courtesy of the Kato Pyrgos Community Council.
