Troodos Geopark Trail

The 2023 running season can’t have a better start than the Amiantos – Troodos Geopark Trail; the first running of the year designed for the experienced and demanding runners, with the up-hill section amounting to 16.20km (48.2%) of the total racecourse while climbing the rough Troodos slopes trail with some sections requiring technical running, or even the use of the rope!!!! The event starts at the village at 09:00 am and runners during the race will enjoy the gorgeous picturesque coupled with the incomparable beauty and view of the wooded area, the rugged paths of Olympus.
The athletes will cover a route that combines an asphalt leg during the early stage when exiting and entering the village, forest roads with uphill and flat tracks as well as trail running where technical running will be required. En route there will be a refueling station at the 8km and 16km (water, rosewater and fruit will be offered) at the 8th km and the 18th km mark.
Upon arrival and collection of their BIB, the athletes will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional breakfast and coffee, while at the finish line there will be refreshments, fruit, and other delicacies courtesy of the Lythrodontas Community Council

PARTICIPATION FEE
The cost of participation in the race is €25 (twenty-five euros), while special prices will be offered for team participations, clubs, National Guard, Police – Fire Brigade, British Forces personnel, UNFICYP personnel, while conscript national guards can participate free of charge.
Registration for the race includes a finishing medal, a BIB with an electronic timing chip from MyLaps and at the refueling stations and the finish line water, fruit, rosewater, and soft drinks. Also at the finish line, local dishes and drinks will be offered by the Community Council of Kato Amiantos.
